What this site stores

Two things, and nothing else.

Visits. Each page view records the day, the path, and the domain you arrived from — the domain only, never the full address, because a full address usually says more than people expect. It also records an identifier built by hashing a secret together with the day, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, then keeping the first sixteen characters. The day is part of what is hashed, so the same person tomorrow produces an unrelated identifier: visitors can be counted for one day, and nobody can be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address exists only for the length of that calculation and is never written down. There are no cookies, no third-party scripts, no advertising, and no analytics service.

If your browser sends Sec-GPC or DNT, nothing is recorded at all.

Messages. What you write in the contact form is emailed to contact@nekuzaky.com along with your name, your email address and the IP address the message came from. It is not stored in any database on this site. Your address is used to reply to you, and for nothing else.

What the application stores

Memento runs on your machine and sends nothing to us. It has no account, no telemetry, and no usage reporting of any kind. Your repositories, their contents and their history never leave your computer.

If you sign in to GitHub from the app, the token is encrypted with your Windows account key and kept in the application's local folder. It is used to talk to GitHub directly, and it never passes through any server of ours. Signing out deletes it.

The app checks memento.nekuzaky.com for updates and for the release notes. Those requests are not counted at all: the counter runs in the browser, and the application does not run it.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to contact@nekuzaky.com.

In practice there is very little to hand over. Visit records cannot be traced back to a person by design, so we cannot find yours even if you ask us to. Messages you have sent can be found and deleted, because they are in a mailbox.

Intellectual property

Memento, its source code, this site and its contents belong to their author. The application is distributed free of charge; that does not make it public domain, and it may not be redistributed or resold without permission.

Liability

Memento is provided as is. It automates operations on your repositories, and the documentation states plainly what it will and will not do on its own — including the one thing it cannot promise, which is that a merge without textual conflicts produces code that builds. Keep your work pushed to a remote you trust.
